CapAxis Investment Decision Study

A three-part research project analyzing capital allocation, investment decision-making, and behavioral execution.

Overview

CapAxis bridges how capital allocation decisions should be made, how I naturally make decisions, and how I actually perform under pressure. Three parallel tracks synthesized into one concluding report.

“Capital allocation shows how decisions should be made. Kolbe shows how I naturally make them. Simulation shows how I actually make them under pressure.

Part 1 — Capital Allocation Casebook

Extracted a personal investment framework from three detailed case studies on capital allocation by great allocators. Analysis of how they think, structure decisions, and manage uncertainty under pressure.

Part 2 — Kolbe Decision Lab

Completed the Kolbe A Index to identify behavioural tendencies in a financial context. Mapped natural decision style to investment decision-making, where instinct adds value, where it creates blind spots.

Part 3 — Trading Simulation

Ran a 30-day trading simulation. Finished with an annualized return of 126.23%. One structured journal entry per day tracking decisions made, reasoning, outcomes, and reflections.

Concluding Output

Synthesized all three components into a concluding report examining:

  • How decisions should be made (casebook)
  • How I am naturally wired to make them (Kolbe)
  • How I actually made them under pressure (simulation)
